The Day of the Lord is a sober reminder that God’s mercy is great, but His judgment is real, for Scripture warns in Isaiah 13:9, Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it. Today many ignore God’s call to repentance, choosing sin over salvation, yet the Lord patiently waits, not willing that any should perish. But the time will come when He will judge the world in righteousness, as Acts 17:31 declares. Jesus also said in Matthew 24:37, But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be, showing that people will be living carelessly until judgment suddenly arrives. Now is the time to turn from sin, for Hebrews 10:31 warns, It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Let every heart be awakened, for the same God who judges is the God who saves all who call upon Him.
