"To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He might be glorified." – Isaiah 61:3 (KJV)

Empowerment:

Life sometimes brings us to seasons of mourning, heaviness, and brokenness—times when all that seems left are ashes of shattered dreams and disappointments. But God’s promise in Isaiah 61:3 is a divine exchange. He does not leave us in our pain; instead, He clothes us with hope and restoration.

Beauty for ashes – What was destroyed or wasted, God can rebuild with something glorious.

Oil of joy for mourning – Where sorrow has lingered, God pours His Spirit to refresh and lift us.

Garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness – Praise is not just a response; it is a weapon. It breaks the grip of despair and opens the way for God’s glory to shine through us.

This verse reminds us that our trials are not wasted. They become testimonies that reveal the faithfulness of God, and through this, we become trees of righteousness—rooted, fruitful, and unshakable, bringing glory to Him.

🏾 Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for being the God of restoration. Today, I lay down every ash of disappointment, sorrow, and heaviness at Your feet. Clothe me with Your beauty, fill me with Your joy, and put a new song of praise in my mouth. Let my life be firmly rooted in Your Power and Glory, Precious Holy Spirit continually renew me. In Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
