THE CHRISTIANITY OF LOSING
(PART 5)
Matthew 16:25 (AMPC)..... For whoever is bent on saving his temporal life [his comfort and security here] shall lose it [eternal life]; and whoever loses his life [his comfort and security here] for My sake shall find it [life everlasting].
Christianity will cost you the joy of this sinful world, but you will gain the joy of heaven. Remember I once told you that one day, all of this will come to an end. Do you want to be found crying on the last day? Then you will have to lose some things. You can’t mix Christ and your life of excessive drinking of alcohol together; you will have to lose one for the other.
Some believers are slaves to the vices of this world, like alcohol, women, money, cinema, etc. These pleasures can hurt you.
John 10:17-18 (KJV)...... Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
@18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
There are 2 ways to lose a thing according to the word of Jesus.
(1) You give it up yourself by using the power of the Holy Spirit as your assistance.
(2) Or it been taken away from you.
When it has to be forcefully taken away from you, it comes with a lot of trouble. So, why don't you ask the Holy Spirit to help separate you from the things that will rob you of your heavenly joy? Be wise.
Prayer:
Father, I ask that you help me loose the things that are struggling with my Christianity in Jesus name. Amen.
Bible Reference: Ephesians 1:1-22 (AMP).
Wisdom Capsule:
Proverbs 2:20 (MSG)..... So—join the company of good men and women, keep your feet on the tried-and-true paths.
