DAY 2 — Counsel Over Consumerism Scripture: “Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom. Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.” — Proverbs 23:4-5 Reflection The world’s counsel during the holidays is "Buy more, spend more, impress more." The Counselor offers a different word: freedom. His wisdom liberates us from the exhausting race of consumerism. True joy is not found in the purchase, but in the presence—both His and that of those we love. We must ask the Counselor where our resources should truly be invested this month. Prayer Counselor, deliver me from the pressure to overspend or strive for temporary approval. Help me invest my time and resources where they bring eternal value. Give me the wisdom to say "no" to the exhausting counsel of the world. In Jesus’ Name, Amen. Declaration The Counselor frees me from consumerism. My value is not in what I buy or give. I will invest in presence, not possessions. I am walking in financial wisdom.
