ARE YOU LIVING FOR GOD? (PART 1).
Colossians 3:23 (NLT)..... Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.
Your greatest calling on earth is to live for God. This is the whole duty of man. This is the whole counsel of man. This is why you are left here after you gave your life to Christ. And if you are not living for him, then know that you are not living at all.
Some people are living for other people; some parents are living for their kids, some spouses are living for their fellow spouse, while some pastors are living for their congregation. You know, I heard a woman lament, saying, 'What am I really living for if not for my children?' This is the same mindset many parents have.
I am not saying it is bad, but it is an incomplete and stressful life passed unto you by your parents. We are not to live for our kids but for God. It is for this reason you find out that if anything bad happens to any of your children, some parents cannot survive. This is a painful life, and it is a life occupied with SELF.
Anyone who is not living for God is SELFISH. And one way you know you are living for God is to strip yourself of SELF. To abandon yourself all to him. It is to abandon your will and pursue his. When you hear statements like this: 'Not my will, Lord, but yours be done,' then you know that such a person is now living for God. Selah.
Prayer:
Lord I want to thank you for opening my eyes to the truth of your word. Thank you for teaching me the how to live for you and I ask that you daily help me walk in this truth. Amen.
Bible Reference: Colossians 2:1-20 (AMP).
Wisdom Capsule:
Proverbs 18:8 (MSG).... Listening to gossip is like eating cheap candy; do you really want junk like that in your belly?
