DESCRIPTION VERSUS PRESCRIPTION.

Romans 15:4 (MSG)...... Even if it was written in Scripture long ago, you can be sure it’s written for us. God wants the combination of his steady, constant calling and warm, personal counsel in Scripture to come to characterize us, keeping us alert for whatever he will do next.

This is a lesson the church of Jesus Christ must be taught in this last day. One such lesson is that there is a great difference between description and prescription. That something is described for us; does it mean it is prescribed? But our generation does not know this.

That a person is used as an example for you does not mean that person has suddenly become your role model. The things that were written in the old were written for our learning. This is what Paul the Apostle wrote to the church.

So, when the Bible spoke about Samson, it only wanted us to learn, but not as a prescription for our everyday living. We live in a time and among people who feel that description is prescription, and these kinds of people won't see God and won't see when change comes because they don’t understand the language of the Godhead or the speakings of the scripture.

Ask God to help you understand the difference between the described things of God and the prescribed things of God.

Prayer:
Thank you father for revealing to my spirit the oracles of God and helping me to carry deeper insights into the things that should be and the things I should let go. Amen

Bible Reference: Romans 15:1-15 (MSG).

Wisdom Capsule:
Proverbs 18:5 (MSG).... It’s not right to go easy on the guilty, or come down hard on the innocent.
