Wake Up to the Cost of Following Christ
This week, Pastor Kamran Michael of Gujranwala was shot and killed while dropping his little girl at school.
The attacker came from behind and fired three shots.
His daughter witnessed everything and tried to defend her father with his walking stick.
Pastor Kamran had already survived a previous attack for his faith.
Yet he refused to hide.
He refused to be silent.
He refused to abandon the flock Christ trusted to him.
This is what real discipleship looks like.
Not comfort.
Not applause.
Not convenience.
But courage. Faithfulness. Sacrifice.
The persecuted church is shouting a message to all of us:
Wake up.
Wake up from easy Christianity.
Wake up from silence in the face of evil.
Wake up from fear of what people think.
Wake up to the reality that following Jesus has a cost.
And wake up to the eternal reward promised to those who stand firm.
“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” — Matthew 5:10
Pastor Kamran is now home with Christ.
But his testimony remains:
Stand firm. Speak truth. Love boldly. Fear nothing.
Church, wake up.
