Genesis 12:1-3 Now the LORD had said to Abram; "Get out of your country, From your family And from your father's house, To a land that I will show you.
I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing.
I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed."
Acts 6:8-15 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and signs among the people.
Then there arose some from what is called the Synagogue of the Freedman (Cyrenians, Alexandrians, and those from Cilicia and Asia), disputing with Stephen.
And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the Spirit by which he spoke.
Then they secretly induced men to say, "We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and God."
And they stirred up the people, the elders, and the scribes; and they came upon him, seized him, and brought him to the council.
They also set up false witnesses who said, "This man does not cease to speak blasphemous words against this holy place and the law;
"for we have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place and change the customs which Moses delivered to us."
And all who sat in the council, looking steadfastly at him, saw his face as the face of an angel.
Acts 7:1-8 Then the high priest said, "Are these things so?"
And he said, "Brethren and fathers, listen; The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Haran,
"and said to him, 'Get out of your country and from the relatives, and come to a land that I will show you.'
"Then he came out of the land of the Chaldeans and dwelt in Haran. And from there, when his father was dead, He moved him to this land in which you now dwell.
"And God gave him no inheritance in it, not even enough to set his foot on. But even when Abraham had no child, He promised to give it to him for a possession, and to his descendants after him.
"But God spoke in this way; that his descendants would dwell in a foreign land, and that they would bring them into bondage and oppress them four hundred years.
'And the nation to whom they will be in bondage I will judge,' said God, 'and after that they shall come out and serve Me in this place.'
"Then He gave him the covenant of circumcision; and so Abraham begot Isaac and circumcised him on the eight day; and Isaac begot Jacob, and Jacob begot the twelve patriarchs.
Genesis 13:5-13 Lot also, who went with Abram, had flocks and herds and tents.
Now the land was not able to support them, that they might dwell together, for their possessions were so great that they could not dwell together.
And there was strife between the herdsmen of Abrams's livestock and the herdsmen of Lot's livestock. The Canaanites and the Perizzites then dwelt in the land.
So Abram said to Lot, "Please let there be no strife between you and me, and between my herdsmen and your herdsmen; for we are brethren.
"Is not the whole land before you? Please separate from me, If you take the left, then I will go to the right; or, if you go to the right, then I will go to the left."
And Lot lifted his eyes and saw all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered everywhere (before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah) like the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt as you go toward Zoar.
Then Lot chose for himself all the plain of Jordan, and Lot journeyed east. And they they separated from each other.
Abram dwelt in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelt in the cities of the plain and pitched his tent even as far as Sodom.
But the men of Sodom were exceedingly wicked and sinful against the LORD.
