Romans 15:1-7 Exploring CEB

Romans 15:1-7 We who are powerful need to be patient with the weakness of those who don't have power, and not please ourselves.

Each of us should please our neighbors for their good in order to build them up.

Christ didn't please himself, but, as it is written, The insults of those who insulted you fell on me.

Whatever was written in the past was written for our instruction so that we could have hope through endurance and through the encouragement of the scriptures.

May the God of endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude toward each order, similar to Christ Jesus' attitude.

That way you can glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ together with one voice.

So welcome each other, in the same way that Christ also welcomed you, for God's glory.

Caring and Sharing

Galatians 6:1-2 Brothers and sisters, if a person is caught doing something wrong, you who are spiritual should restore someone like this with a spirit of gentleness. Watch out for yourselves so you won't be tempted too.

Cary each other's burdens and so you will fulfill the law of Christ.

1 Thessalonians 5:14 Brothers and sisters, we urge you to warn those who are disorderly. Comfort the discouraged. Help the weak. Be patient with everyone.

1 Corinthians 9:19-23 Although I'm free from all people, I make myself a slave to all people, to recruit more of them.

I act like a Jew to the Jews, so I can recruit Jews. I act like I'm under the Law of those who are under the Law, so I can recruit those who are under the Law (though I myself am not under the Law).

I act like I'm outside the Law to those who are outside the Law, so I can recruit those outside the Law (though I'm not outside the law of God but rater under the law of Christ).

I act weak to the weak, so I can recruit the weak. I have become all things to all people, so I could save some by all possible means.

All the things I do are for the sake of the gospel, so I can be a partner with it.

1 Corinthians 10:11 These things happened to them as an example and were written as a warning for us to whom the end of time has come.

2 Corinthians 13:9 We are happy when we are weak but you are strong. We pray for this; that you will be made complete.

Psalm 68:8-9 the earth should    Selah yes, heaven poured down before God, the one from Sinai--before God, the God of Israel!

You showered down abundant rain, God; when your inheritance grew weary, you restored it yourself,

Imitate Christ

Philippians 2:1-2 Therefore, if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort in love, any sharing in the Spirit, any sympathy,

complete my joy by thinking the same way, having the same love, being united, and agreeing with each other.

Therefore, We have Peace with God

Romans 5:1-2 Therefore, since we have been made righteous through his faithfulness. we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

We have access by faith into this grace in which we stand through him, and we boast in the hope of God's glory.

Welcoming each other like Christ

Romans 14:1-3 Welcome the person who is weak in faith--but not in order to argue about differences of opinion.

One person believes in eating everything, while the weak person eats only vegetables.

Those who eat must not look down on the ones who don't, and the ones who don't eat must not judge the ones who do, because God has accepted them.
