There also came a point when I needed to forgive God. God in Himself never needs forgiveness, but there are times in our lives when, from our point of view, things look so unfair, so hurtful, that we need to say, “God, I forgive You. I don’t understand. From my vantage point, it seems You really hurt me. I know You have a purpose, and You have the road map, but I don’t. I can’t always see Your plan, and from my point of view, it doesn’t make any sense.” It is not sacrilegious to say, “God, I forgive You.” It is an exercise we may need to go through to get back on speaking terms with God and acknowledge the severe pain we have gone through. - Marilyn Willett Heavilin
