THE ADVENT TRUTH
Progressive Christianity is like a disease that disguises itself as compassion while slowly destroying the body of truth. It redefines sin as “authenticity,” repentance as “self-acceptance,” and holiness as “tolerance.” It claims to follow Jesus—but strips Him of His authority, His divinity, and His commands. The Christ of Scripture calls us to deny ourselves (Luke 9:23), but the Christ of this modern counterfeit says, “affirm yourself.” One leads to a cross; the other leads to compromise.
Paul warned of this long ago: “They will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears” (2 Timothy 4:3). This is exactly what’s happening today. The gospel that once called sinners to be born again has been replaced by one that celebrates sin and mocks obedience. But truth doesn’t evolve—it endures. Jesus said, “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away” (Matthew 24:35).
Real Christianity is not about keeping up with culture; it’s about keeping covenant with Christ. The narrow way will never be popular, but it’s the only way that leads to life. The moment we start rewriting Scripture to fit our lifestyle, we are no longer worshiping God—we’re worshiping ourselves. The Bible doesn’t need an update; it needs to be obeyed.
Progressive Christianity offers comfort without conversion, grace without godliness, and love without lordship. But the gospel of Jesus Christ offers transformation, victory, and eternal life. Stand firm. Don’t let smooth words and smiling faces deceive you. Hold fast to the faith once delivered to the saints (Jude 3). The world may call it narrow-minded—but heaven calls it truth.
