Keeping all the Commandments?
What do you think? Are you able to keep all the commandments all the time? Or do you believe that it is enough if you mostly keep them – you fail sometimes, but generally you are a good person? In the eyes of God, this is not enough. It is like a chain: if there is one broken link, the chain is useless. Likewise, if there is one sin in your life, it separates you from God who is without sin. Another illustration: suppose you are driving your car and there are three red traffic lights in a row. You stop dutifully for the first two lights, but when you get to the third one, you don’t stop. Then the police catch you. You tell them: ‘What is the problem? I did right most of the time!’ Of course the police would never accept this. Likewise, God wants us to be 100% righteous. But the truth is that there is not one person on earth who is good all the time.
