Foreword

It has, and still is my desire to share what I have discovered in prophecy, mainly Revelation. Each chapter was originally written as an essay that was placed on my wall in Facebook over a period of a year.

These essays were written with Adventists in mind, but can certainly be read by anyone. You will find, on occasion, references to Ellen G White, one of the pioneers of Adventism, gifted with the spiritual gift of prophecy. There is also frequent references to the Adventist belief in prophecy.

It has been requested that I compile these essays into a book. From the nature of how these essays were written, the flow of concepts may not quite be the way books are normally written. Frequent references to previous chapters are made because some concepts in a chapter may be hard to understand without the underlying explanation given in previous chapters.

Because these chapters are written thematically, and with references to previous chapters, this book may be used as reference material and need not necessarily be read from cover to cover to make sense of a concept. The chapter titles are quite self-explanatory, leading the reader to home in on a theme if that is their need.

The order in which the themes are presented is not chronological, nor the order in which they occur in Revelation. The order of themes developed from the most foundational concepts in Adventism, where alternative understandings are suggested. One theme often precedes another as it is foundational for the understanding of the next theme.

I will embark on a version of these essays with Christians in general in mind. This will lead to a completely different order of the essays where there will be a focus on understanding Revelation. Hermeneutic principles will be put up in front, creating a foundation for unravelling the beauties of Revelation.

The Scripture used in every chapter of this book is the King James Version, unless indicated otherwise. Albeit old English, it is one of the more accurate translations of the Bible.

Please get on board for this exciting journey into prophecy, which has become very relevant today. I believe we are the final generation on Earth, and these issues are playing out in front of our eyes. Do invite God with you on this journey. Prophecy cannot be correctly understood without the abiding presence of God by His Spirit. I do not claim to have the final word in prophecy, or that my interpretations are correct. I do believe God has led me in this adventure, and that He will lead you as well as you join me on this journey.

God promises a blessing to all those that listen to, read and study the prophecies of Revelation:

Rev 1:3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

Study with me and God will bless you as He has promised.
