Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.
Today I woke up congested. My head is full, but not of thoughts, just yuck. Today is one of those days when I wish I had it in me to call off work. It is very tempting; I could go back to bed and sleep this off. But … it is not in my DNA. I could really use a nap. Haha.
In the beginning of the year, I explained that one of my goals was to complete both of my Rick Renner devotional books. I have had one of those books since 2012 and have yet to make it all the way through the year. Then, a few years ago, a couple of friends of mine tried to be devotion buddies and keep each other accountable. This is the first year that I might actually make it through. I found them on Audible, an audiobook platform. Now I won't say that I have been exceptionally good at listening daily; however, I am in December and only one or two days behind.
Also, at the beginning of the year, I devoted my mornings to writing these pages. I think … that I have only missed maybe 7 days this year. Out of 350 days, for me, that is pretty good. My prayer life has increased, another positive. My attitude has improved. My temper, though still there, is not as quick to reveal itself. The year has not been rainbows and unicorns, but it has graciously been Godly.
Every year we make ‘resolutions’ and every year most of those promises are broken in the first three months. Two of my resolutions were to walk a mile every day and to lose 20 pounds. That has not happened. However, the resolutions to make God a First in Line of my life … every day… that has happened. I am going to church more. I am praying more. I am meditating more. I am looking intently for Him more. I am placing Him in front of me … and I am more at peace. More laid back. Less tempered. It is nice. Very nice.
As we close out this year, take a day or so and reflect on this past year. Look at it closely. That is why I said a day or so…this year has had a multitude of outcomes from all sides of the universe. Look at the good, the bad, the ugly … then look at the miracles. Yes, miracles. Look inside the ugly and the bad and find the Light that was within and how it shined. It is there. I promise.
My first cup of coffee is down and I want a nap, still. So it is time for my second, but my head is less congested and I think I still have a lung inside me. Not sure. But what I do know is that I have a God who loves me and protects me. Today I will do my best to give Him my best and serve Him as he would have me serve.
How about you?
Be blessed today my friends.
