Robe Exodus 28:1-4 RSV

Exodus 28:1-4 ¨Then bring near to you Aaron your brother, and his sons with him, from among the people of Israel, to serve me as priests--Aaron and Aaron's sons, Na'dab and Ab'hi, El-e-a'zar and Ith'a-mar.

And you shall make holy garments for Aaron your brother, for glory and for beauty.

And you shall speak to all who have ability, whom I have endowed with an able mind, that they make Aaron's garments to consecrate him for my priesthood.

These are the garments which they shall make; a breastplate, an ephod, a robe, a coat of checker work, a turban, and a girdle; they shall make holy garments for Aaron your brother and his sons to serve me as priests.

Hebrews 5:1-4 For every high priest chosen from among men is appointed to act on behalf of men in relation to God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins.

He can deal gently with the ignorant and wayward, since he himself is beset with weakness.

Because of this he is bound to offer sacrifice for his own sins as well as for those of the people.

And one does not take the honor upon himself, but he is called by God, just as Aaron was.

Leviticus 8:6-9 And Moses brought Aaaron and his sons and washed them with water.

And he put on him the coat, and girded him with the girdle, and clothed him with the robe, and put the ephod upon him, and girded him with the skilfully woven band of the ephod, binding it to him therewith.

And he placed  the breastplate on him, and in the breast-piece he put the U'rim and the Thum'-mim.

And he set the turban upon his head, and on the turban, in front, he set the golden plate, the holy crown, as the LORD commanded Moses.

Ephesians 1:15-23 For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints,

I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers,

that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him,

having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,

and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power in us who believe, according to the working of his great might

which he accomplished in Christ when he raised him from the dead and made him sit at his right hand in the heavenly places,

far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come;

and he has put all things under his feet and has made him the head over all things for the church,

which is his body, the fulness of him who fills all in all.

Exodus 28:15-21 "And you shall make a breastplate of judgment, in skilled work, like the work of the ephod you shall make it; of gold, blue and purple and scarlet stuff, and fine twined linen shall you make it,

It shall be square and double, a span its length and a span its breadth.

And you shall set in it four rows of stones, A row of sardius, topaz, and carbuncle, shall be the first row;

and the second row an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond;

and the third row a jacinth, an agate, and an amethyst;

and the fourth row a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper; they shall be set in gold filigree.

There shall be twelve stones with their names according to the names of the sons of Israel; they shall be like signets, each engraved with its name, for the twelve tribes.

Exodus 28:31-35 "And you shall make the robe of the ephod all of blue.

It shall have in it an opening for the head, with a woven binding around the opening, like the opening in a garment, that it may not be torn.

On its shirts you shall make pomegranates of blue and purple and scarlet stuff, around its skirts, with bells of gold between them,

a golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate round about on the skirts of the robe.

And it shall upon Aaron when he ministers, and its sound shall be heard when he goes into the holy place before the LORD, and when he comes out, lest he die.

Exodus 39:22-26 He also made the robe of the ephod woven all blue;

and the opening of the robe in it was like the opening of a garment, with a binding around the opening, that it might not be torn.

On the shirts of the robe they made pomegranates of blue and purple and scarlet stuff and fine twined linen.

They also made bells of pure gold, and put the bells between the pomegranates upon the skirts of the robe round about, between the pomegranates;

a bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate round about upon the skirts of the robe for ministering; as the LORD had commanded Moses.
