Isaiah 55:11 ASV so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 ASV Every scripture inspired of God is also profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction which is in righteousness:

that the man of God may be complete, furnished completely unto every good work.

2 Peter 1:19-21 ASV And we have the word of prophecy made more sure; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day-star arise in your hearts:

knowing this first, that no prophecy of scripture is of private interpretation.

For no prophecy ever came by the will of man: but men spake from God, being moved by the Holy Spirit.

How to hear and understand the Gospel

Job 38:1-2 ASV Then Jehovah answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

Who is this that darkeneth counsel By words without knowledge?

Job 40:6-7 ASV Then Jehovah answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.

Job 42:4-7 ASV Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak; I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.

I had heard of thee by the hearing of the ear; But now mine eye seeth thee:

Wherefore I abhor myself, And repent in dust and ashes.

And it was so, that, after Jehovah had spoken these words unto Job, Jehovah said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends; for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath.

Romans 10:14-17 ASV How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

and how shall they preach, except they be sent? even as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that bring glad tidings of good things!

But they did not all hearken to the glad tidings. For Isaiah saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

So belief cometh of hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.

Acts 26:17-18 ASV delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom I send thee,

to open their eyes, that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among them that are sanctified by faith in me.

Romans 15:4-7 ASV For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that through patience and through comfort of the scriptures we might have hope.

Now the God of patience and of comfort grant you to be of the same mind one with another according to Christ Jesus:

that with one accord ye may with one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Wherefore receive ye one another, even as Christ also received you, to the glory of God.
