How to hear and understand the Gospel

Job 38:1-2 ASV Then Jehovah answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

Who is this that darkeneth counsel By words without knowledge?

Job 40:6-7 ASV Then Jehovah answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.

Job 42:4-7 ASV Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak; I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.

I had heard of thee by the hearing of the ear; But now mine eye seeth thee:


Wherefore I abhor myself, And repent in dust and ashes.


And it was so, that, after Jehovah had spoken these words unto Job, Jehovah said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends; for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath. 

Romans 10:14-17 ASV How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 

and how shall they preach, except they be sent? even as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that bring glad tidings of good things!

But they did not all hearken to the glad tidings. For Isaiah saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? 


So belief cometh of hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.

Acts 26:17-18 ASV delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom I send thee, 

to open their eyes, that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among them that are sanctified by faith in me.
