WHEN YOU FEEL ILL
Lord, I feel so helpless.
This illness came on me so suddenly.
I can’t believe it. I realize how
I’ve taken my health for granted—
I’m sorry for that, Lord: forgive me, I pray.
Now, Lord, I thank you for the
doctors and nurses who are looking after me.
Help me to be patient as I look to you
for healing and recovery.
Please work naturally through the care,
medicine, and surgery, and also supernaturally
by the Spirit of Christ himself to bring wholeness.
Lord, may I be comfortable and at peace with you.
I pray too for others who are ill. May they get better,
too, Lord. I pray, in Christ’s name.
