Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.

I must admit that the winter blues have hit me. Yesterday, I woke up with the blahs. I did not feel good. I had no desire to get out of bed. My head was congested. I did not want to get up. I really did want to be one of those people who find excuses to not go to work and call off. I wanted to be one of those people who said, I am retiring and I never call off, why not this once? I wanted to be that person who really did not have a reason to stay home but did it anyway. However … my earthly parents raised me to be responsible and to give my employer my best. What I wanted yesterday was not my best. I went to work.

At work, it got a little better, but as the morning drug on and my morning routine was completed, the blahs returned. Fortunately for me, another scenario that required my attention and got me out of the office appeared, and I got to spend the next couple of hours out of the office doing the other pieces of my job. It was much needed and refreshing.

By evening, when all my carriers had finally completed their routes and were on their way home, I felt rejuvenated and refreshed. I was tired from the long day, but my inner self was no longer consumed with the blahs. After dinner and a short night of conversation with my husband, I was able to lie down and get a very nice night’s sleep. I did wake up this morning congested; however, that comes with the season.

When it is cold outside and the weather is not very nice to our old bones, when we do not have the energy of a child to embrace its beauty, and we feel confined, the blahs hit and they hit hard. It is then that we need to find a purpose to go outside and let the Son shine down on us and give us life. It may only be for a few minutes, or it may be for a few hours, but in either case, we need His light to fill us and wipe out the blahs. It works. Just you and Him and his blinding beauty of nature. The rays of His love engulfing you really does make a difference in your mood. I promise.

Be blessed today my friends.
