Hello, family, friends and brothers, and sisters in the faith.

This is Brother Johnny Gass.

Today's short sermon is entitled: Weeds in the yard.
Please share this with your family and friends.

Your lawn is an ever-changing living entity that requires ongoing cultivation in order to remain protected from weed infestation.
Any change in a Lawns environment, structure, or quality can act as an invitation for weeds to take over, and they will take over without hesitation.
At any given time, your lawn may be home to thousands of weed seeds that are eager to germinate.
Given the right conditions, weeds will be all too happy to take over.
Weeds in the yard may seem like small thing and really no big deal, but if not kept out, as stated before, they will take over your yard.

Sin can work much the same way as a weed. It may seem to be a small thing, no big deal, but if left unchecked, it takes over one's life.

You're glorifying is no good. Do you not know that a little Leaven leavens the whole lump.
1 Corinthians 5:6 NKJV.

Catch the foxes for us, the little foxes that spoil the vineyards, for our vineyards are in blossom.
Song of Solomon 2:15 ESV.

For whoever shall keep the whole law and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. James 2:10 NKJV.

Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.
1 John 3:4 NKJV.

Sin is never a small thing. It's always a big deal seeing that sin is the reason Jesus died on the cross. And when we sin it hurts Him, but, He loves us, and even He as a human, knows us and our nature, and as He was tempted to sin, He did not, and we can choose not to sin as well.

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Hebrews 4:15 ESV.

No temptation has overtaken you. That is not common to man. God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation, He will also provide the way of escape that you may be able to endure it. 1st Corinthians 10:13 ESV.

I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. philippians 4:13 ESV.
( Even resist and refrain from committing sin).

We have the choice to commit sin or not. God, in his love for us, gives us the freedom to choose. If we choose to resist and avoid sin, we do very well, and are choosing life, for we are choosing to obey God. But if we choose sin, we are choosing death. Unfortunately, all of us have made the wrong choices at times in our lives.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23 NKJV.

And the word of God is very clear of the results of choosing to sin.

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our lord.Romans 6:23 NKJV.

Jesus Paid the wages of sin for us on the cross, so if we choose wrong and sin, we have to confess and repent, and if we truly repent of that sin, we will have forgiveness, and we will hate the fact of sin in our lives.

My little children, these things I write to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an advocate with the father, Jesus Christ, the righteous. 1 John 2:1 NKJV.

When we are clothed with the righteousness of Christ, we shall have no relish for sin. For Christ will be working with us. We may make mistakes, but we will hate the sin that caused the suffering of the Son of God. Ellen G. White. Message to young people page 338.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16 NKJV.

If you love Me, keep My commandments. John 14:15 NKJV.

Submit yourselves therefore to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7 ESV

Whoever keeps His commandments abides in God and God in him. 1 John 3:24 ESV.

Dear Lord Jesus, I confess that I have sinned, and at this time I turn away from my sins, and ask that You forgive me for all my sins, and please send Your Spirit to keep me from sin. Thank you for paying the price for my sins. I now ask you to come and live in me (my heart) and be my Savior, Lord, and God. Thank You for salvation, and Your Holy Spirit, Lord Jesus, Amen.
