Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.

Today I am very thankful. I am thankful that I have a job that is flexible. I am thankful that we have friends who answer when we call. I am thankful for my kids. I am thankful for the hospitals and staffing. I am thankful to the people who have walked their path and have been kind enough to share it, even though it is difficult to re-walk some or most of those steps. I am thankful.

Yesterday while working on some important matters, I received a call from my husband who told me that he had fallen. Much like he did before the pacemaker was put in. When I got home 30 minutes later (that’s the drive time from my work), I was notified that when he fell, he called a friend who came over to bandage him up, however, when she heard the details and seen the damage, she insisted that he call me. She refused to leave him until I got home.

After he loaded up into the truck, we went to the ER. Not Urgent Care, but the ER. The last time he had spells like this, he got a pacemaker. I was not taking any chances. I am so thankful that God impressed that need in my spirit. Tests and pictures were taken, and it was determined that he needed to be admitted. I agreed wholeheartedly. I went and got him some pjs and after getting him tucked in, I brought his yesterday's clothes home to wash.

I watched yesterday as the excellent hospital crew treated my husband with respect. As they were careful to listen to his concerns. While they did not just brush him off and send him home. They realized that there was definitely a need for him to be there and that they were the better choice for his care. I am thankful that if this is another major bridge to cross, that God has enlightened my eyes to see the new road. I am not a fan, but I am a soldier. I know my place. I know my duty. I know my God. I am thankful.

Today I encourage you to give thanks for the many little things that you take for granted and give thanks to the One who granted them in His mercy and grace. Look around you and see the Light and earnestly push back the darkness. The enemy attempted to infiltrate my thoughts as I drove home from work, I rebuked him with the Lord’s Prayer over and over again. He again tried to enter my thoughts and I rebuked him again. I will give him this, he is persistent, however I am a stubborn cuss … who loves and trusts her God.

Be blessed today my friends!

***Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. – Philippians 4:4-6
