THE ADVENT TRUTH
Everyone loves to shout “God is love!”
Few want to hear “Keep My commandments.”
They cheer “God is good!”
But get offended when you say “Sin must be overcome completely.”
They celebrate “God is merciful!”
But rage when you say “Jesus is the ONLY way to heaven.”
Modern Christianity has become a buffet line.
Take the verses that feel nice.
Leave the ones that require repentance, obedience, or change.
But the Bible is not a salad bar. You don’t get to pick and choose.
People want a God who saves them from the consequences of sin…
not a God who saves them from the sin itself.
They want a Jesus who comforts them in worldliness…
not a Jesus who calls them out of the world.
They want grace without holiness,
love without truth,
mercy without judgment,
a cross without crucifixion,
a Savior without Lordship.
But that’s not Christianity.
That’s idolatry — creating a god in your own image.
* The real Gospel both comforts and confronts.
* The same Jesus who said “Come unto Me” also said “Go and sin no more.”
* The same Bible that says “God so loved the world” also says “Be ye holy.”
If the only verses we love are the ones that don’t correct us,
we don’t love God — we love permission.
Truth will always offend the flesh before it sets the soul free.
So here’s the question every Christian needs to face:
Do you want the God of the Bible…
or the god of your feelings?
Because the God of Scripture still says:
“KEEP My commandments.”
“BE separate from the world.”
“REPENT and believe the Gospel.”
“DENY yourself, take up your cross, and follow Me.”
Don’t be fooled by a soft, progressive, sanitized “Christianity” that costs you nothing.
Jesus didn’t die to make you comfortable in sin.
He died to deliver you from it.
The question is not “Do you believe in God?”
The question is “Do you believe the God of the Bible enough to obey Him?”
