Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.

Yesterday I took the day off to make sure that my husband did not have any relapses. We spent a quiet and uneventful day together. He is sounding and feeling much better. This morning he awoke to have coffee with me. It is far too early for me to be awake and moving like I am, but here I am knocking it out of the park. As long as my coffee supply does not run out, that is.

In the quiet of the day, I was able to edit and correct eight chapters for the upcoming book. My goal still is to have it up and ready by the first of the year. I am a little behind because I have not been motivated to do the editing and correcting; however, with only ten days left, I suppose that it would be a good thing to start being motivated on. Haha. Not to mention, it will be the first time I have ever published two books inside one year.

A funny thing happened last night. My husband and I were talking about Christmas when he asked when the rest of the kids’ stuff was supposed to arrive. I had forgotten to check their status and brought up my Amazon account. We had only received one big box, a week ago, and nothing since. When I pulled up the account, it showed that everything had been delivered on the same day that we only got the one box. In that box, as my email described, was a mini fridge. So there was no need to open one box, haha, were we wrong? The mini fridge was just that (mini) and the rest of our items were in that box as well. We just looked at the box with amazement.

Shaking our heads, we pulled out each item, labeled it, and found we are missing only one child. That was something that was supposed to already be here, so we will have to pivot.

How many times have you looked at someone or something and ‘assumed’ you knew everything there was to know by the appearance of what you were looking at? I cannot count how many times … just recently … that I have done that. I know it is wrong. I know I shouldn’t. Yet, I do.

In today’s society, it is all about presentation. How do you look? How do you talk? Are you of the caliber that you should be … and by whose standards? In today’s society, it is all about smoke and mirrors. The enemy has made very easy for us to dismiss those that do not align with our thoughts, our beliefs, or even our hygiene. That is why is so crucial that we, as Christians, be mindful of our actions. If we walk around pompously, then Christianity takes a blow as holier than thou. If we walk around grumpy and mad, then Christianity takes a blow as too many rules and no fun. If we are representing Christianity, HOW are we representing it?

To be fair, we are always going to find that one person who has already made up their mind, but the fun part is when you help them to change their mind by simply being human. Simply extending a hand while they are struggling to load their groceries. Wishing them a good day. A glancing smile of support. The really bad dad joke that makes them smile. By gently showing them an error and helping them or guiding them to a solution of repair. But most of all, being consistent. If you don’t like it today, you cannot like it tomorrow. If it is wrong today, it is wrong tomorrow. You cannot live with one foot in the world and one foot in the Word. It does not work like that.

Today, as you rest on this Saturday in the warmth of your home, think about your witness. Think about if you walk around grumpy or cheerful. Think about how often you laugh at off-color or sexual jokes. Think about how often you tell those jokes. When do you purposefully turn away from a line of travel because you see a difficult person … I plead the 5th. Then, go to Him and ask him to guide your steps to walk His path. It won't be easy to see, but it is possible to correct.

Be blessed today my friends.
