How sad it is that people who reject the single authorship of Isaiah are the ones teaching in Biblical colleges like John Bowker who wrote The Complete Bible Handbook an Illustrated Companion and John J. Collins who wrote A short Introduction to the Hebrew Bible , I am no way promoting their books but writing against it
Look at John J. Collins a professor of Yale university and was president of the society of Biblical Literature in 2002 & 2003 has to say about Isaiah's Book in his A Short Introduction to the Hebrew Bible 164 {" Only Part of first Isaiah is likely to derive from the 8 century prophet"} Does he not see Isaiah connection through out the book , No he has not. He is no true scholar of the word of God. How sad it is that these imposters are running our Bible classes!! We expect our children to grow in their love for the Lord after learning in a Bible college class but instead they turn out atheist rejecting the Bible due to what a professor had told them.
Many in today's Academic World do not believe in the supernatural and prophecy is of the supernatural. And because of that , they fail to understand that the book of Isaiah is a prophetic Book.
(Isaiah 8:16) Bind up the testimony, Seal the law among my disciples. (NKJV)
(Isaiah 30:8) Now go, write it before them on a tablet, And note it on a scroll, That it may be for time to come, Forever and ever: (NKJV)
(Isaiah 42:23) Who among you will give ear to this? Who will listen and hear for the time to come? (NKJV)
The Book of Isaiah is about the future and to fail to acknowledge that means to fail in understanding what the book has to say about the future.
And one of the Prophet's job is to speak about the future.
Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord GOD does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.
Genesis 18:17 And the LORD said, "Shall I hide from Abraham what I am doing,
Example of it being prophetic one can see in the mention of Cyrus 200 years before he was born and also stating he was to call for the rebuilding of the temple which was yet to be destroyed in Isaiah time.
