Reality or Finality?

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28

What’s your reality today? Financial difficulties? Illness? Fear? For Moses it was the Red Sea in front and the Egyptian army behind. For Peter it was imprisonment—chained between two guards with no hope of escape. For Lazarus it was four days of death in a tomb. But they all discovered that reality is not finality.

God’s Word is finality, and faith is finality—the jumping off point where reality ends and the Divine reshapes it. I’m not talking about the kind of faith that we treat like a magic wand, believing that if we wave it often enough, recite the magic words unceasingly, and believe hard enough we can make it work out the way we want it. Instead, I’m talking about a calm assurance that connects us with the One who knows the number of hairs on our head; the One who has a plan for us; the One who offers life more abundantly and works all things for our good according to His purposes.

The best place to be is in that plan, asking, What can I do today that is in accordance with His purpose, so that all things can work together for good. Faith brings together the spiritual and the physical realm. Faith connects the natural with the divine.

Then there’s reverse faith, fear, devil-faith that’s so easy to believe when fear’s phantoms grip our minds. God does not give us that tormenting spirit of fear. We can cast down evil imaginations and take our thoughts captive because “He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4.

Reality and fear said a carpenter in a cornfield couldn’t put together a broadcasting network to reach the world with truth, yet millions hear and see truth beaming from the cornfields every day and night on 3ABN. God’s world and faith are finality!

Come out of your spiritual tomb, your prison. Rise up and walk in faith. Just do it.

Look. Is your own personal Red Sea about to part? Yes, because you serve a real God who gives you the real good things in life and has a real plan for you!
