DAY 2 — “He Chose the Dark on Purpose”
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
— John 1:5
Darkness was not an accident.
It was the setting.
God did not arrive late.
He arrived exactly where He intended.
If darkness scared Him, He would have avoided it.
If fear could stop Him, Christmas would have waited.
But Scripture says the light shines — present tense —
already active in the dark.
We often pray for God to remove the darkness.
But Christmas reveals something deeper:
God enters it first.
Light does not negotiate with darkness.
It does not ask permission.
It shows up — and the darkness must respond.
The night around you is not stronger than the light within you.
It never has been.
Christmas is proof.
Stop asking, “Why is it still dark?”
Start asking, “What is the light doing here?”
Lord,
I stop resisting the darkness You’ve already entered.
Let Your light do what only light can do.
Amen.
