THE LORD IS YOUR EVERLASTING LIGHT
Isaiah 60:20 (KJV)
“Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.”
Biblical Symbolism of the Sun and Moon
Throughout Scripture, the sun and moon carry spiritual meaning. In Joseph’s dream, he saw eleven stars, the sun, and the moon bowing before him (Genesis 37:9–10). This was not a literal vision of celestial bodies bowing, but a spiritual representation:
- Stars → His brothers
- Sun → His father
- Moon→ His mother
Thus, biblically, the sun often symbolizes fathers, and the moon symbolizes mothers.
The Everlasting Light
When God declares, “Thy sun shall no more go down, neither shall thy moon withdraw itself,” He is revealing a powerful truth:
- Your sustenance will no longer depend on earthly sources—parents, men, or women.
- Instead, the Lord Himself becomes your everlasting light.
This divine light brings an end to mourning. It sustains, guides, and surrounds you with peace. Today, expect His light to shine in every area of your life.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your word. Thank You for positioning me to receive daily from You. I am grateful for Your everlasting light in my life. Amen.
