Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.
For the first time in my 22 years with the post office, I have Christmas Eve off. The only other way that I would have had it off is if it fell on a Sunday. It is kind of weird. My grandbabies are in my house. There is a frost outside. The fire is burning quite nicely. Today I am sure we will find some mischief to get into…playfully of course. Don’t need Santa catching me … haha.
It is so weird to wake up at 7 and think that it is 5. The sun should be up by now. My body is ready for the sun to be up. As I look out my window, I can see it beginning to, the red hues are beautiful through the trees across the street. It is like a painting. To the south, white clouds with faded reddish/pink hues create quite the scene.
As families gather today and tomorrow to celebrate, let us not fall into the trap that the enemy has put out there for us … remember that this is the time of love and remembrance of times past. Sharing the special time set aside because the rest of the year is so chaotic and full of everything. Remembering that some may not have the means or the employment to join, but their love is still in your hearts. Remembering that this is when we remember that God sent his son, to be born into a human man, to grow up experiencing the thoughts and feelings of man, then teach us a better purpose, and finally to hang on a cross so that He would be our sin offering. The rest really does not matter. It is all about showing the kind of unconditional love that He showed.
My prayer for all is that during this time of celebration, we remember the reason for the celebration … Jesus was born to show us how to love. Let’s do our best to show that kind of love this Christmas season.
Be blessed today my friends.
