Jesus Is the Reason for the Season
In the hush of night where shadows cease,
A Child was born, the Prince of Peace;
No crown of gold, no royal parade—
Yet heaven bent where the Babe was laid.
The stars bore witness, ancient and bright,
Angels split the veil of night:
“Glory to God!” their anthem rang,
For God wore flesh and the Word now sang.
Not tinsel first, nor candle’s gleam,
But prophecy fulfilled the dream—
A virgin’s womb, a promised Son,
Emmanuel—God’s Holy One.
The shepherds came with hearts undone,
The lowly drawn to the Holy Son;
For grace arrived where sinners are,
Wrapped in cloth beneath a star.
He came not just for manger praise,
But for the cross and the final days;
The cradle’s wood foretold the tree
Where love would bleed to set us free.
So let the world with joy adorn
The blessed truth that Christ was born;
Let every song and every flame
Confess the glory of His Name.
For Christmas sings what heaven knew:
Redemption’s dawn has broken through.
No season’s cheer could ever be—
Jesus alone is Christmas’ plea.
He is the Gift the Father gave,
The Light that enters every cave;
The Reason sung through time and space—
Christ Jesus, full of truth and grace.
