Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.

Well, my first day back at work was NOT without adventure. That is for sure. Late truck. Scanners not working. Shuttle service to another office, so that the scanners would charge and upload. Service calls for internet for one of my tiny towns, but the provider did not catch that I said “Attica” not “Westpoint” and when we got disconnected and called back … everyone was confused when we did not have a ticket #. On the phone with the internet, when the phone people came because one of our phone lines was not working … and all that happened in an hour.

Once I got home, it became a bake-off race. My granddaughter and I against supper, bath, and bedtime. I am not sure how we pulled it off, to be honest, but we ate supper that came from the oven and baked two desserts before 9 pm. (I got home after 6). Once the littles were snuggled in upstairs for bed, then it was the “Christmas Eve” wrap sprint. I wrapped all the presents for today’s event with the family and then for the small gathering at my house with the little’s parents. Like I said, nothing short of an adventure.

And do you know what … the whole day brought me laughter and joy.

As each new nuance happened, I belly laughed. While putting the second cake together … I am not sure if my granddaughter was being 12 or being me because … I told her to put the apples in the cake pan …she did … opened even … ‘still in the can’. Haha. She and I made some memories last night for sure.

I always find it amazing how God finds the weirdest things to bring us joy. Yesterday, my joy came from so many weird things, they are too numerous to list individually. However, when I reflect back on the atmosphere, a smile comes to my face … even now.

In today’s society, we need a reason for everything. We need to understand everything. There has to be a practical purpose for everything. What we truly need to learn to embrace is this: “Sometimes the answer is ‘because’.” Because it is. That is all, no more … no less. And for many of us, that is the hardest part of any adventure or experience … we cannot handle “because”. However, if you embrace the ‘because’, you will find that you understand and have peace far more often, and that you will see Him a lot more.

Every time something new happened yesterday, I laughed. Each new obstacle … I laughed. Each new challenge … I laughed. And … because I took on the “because” the enemy gained no ground on me, because my God continued to show me the humor in all the enemy’s attempts to steal my peace.

Today as you embark into the abyss of the unknowns of the day, seek laughter and peace … but most of all … accept the “because”.

Be blessed today, my friends.
