• 2 Corinthians 4:8–9 (KJV) – “We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed.”
• Lamentations 3:22–23 (KJV) – “It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed… They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
• Isaiah 43:18–19 (KJV) – “Remember ye not the former things… behold, I will do a new thing.”
Thought Of The Day...
As this year draws to a close, we pause—not because the journey was easy, but because God was faithful. This year tested our strength, stretched our faith, and pressed us in ways we never expected. There were moments when giving up seemed easier than holding on. Yet here we stand—still standing, not by our own power, but by the grace and mercy of God.
You may carry scars from battles fought in silence. You may have endured losses, disappointments, unanswered prayers, and unexpected detours. But the simple truth remains: you survived because God sustained you. The enemy tried to wear you down, but he could not wipe you out. You were shaken, but not shattered. Bruised, but not broken. Bent, but not destroyed.
New Year’s Eve is more than the end of a calendar—it is a holy threshold. God invites us to reflect, release, and then reposition ourselves for what lies ahead. The pain of the past year is not wasted when it produces perseverance, wisdom, and deeper trust in the Lord. What tried to defeat you actually developed you.
God now speaks a word of hope over your future: “Behold, I will do a new thing.” New beginnings do not always come with loud announcements. Sometimes they arrive quietly—in renewed strength, restored joy, clearer vision, and a deeper dependence on God. The same God who carried you through the storm is the God who will lead you into the promise.
As you step toward a new year, don’t drag yesterday’s failures, guilt, or fear into tomorrow. Lay them at the feet of Jesus. You are still standing, and that means God is not finished with you yet.
Something to Think About...
• What did this past year teach me about God’s faithfulness?
• What do I need to release before stepping into the new year?
• How can I trust God more fully in the season ahead?
Prayer...
Heavenly Father, We thank You for bringing us to the end of this year. It was not easy, but You were present every step of the way. When we were weak, You were strong. When we were weary, You gave us rest. When we felt like giving up, Your grace held us together.
Lord, we acknowledge that we are still standing because of Your mercy. We release the pain, disappointments, and regrets of this past year into Your hands. Heal what was broken. Restore what was lost. Renew our minds and refresh our spirits.
As we prepare to step into a new year, help us to walk by faith and not by sight. Give us courage to embrace new beginnings, wisdom to follow Your direction, and humility to depend on You daily. Let this new season be marked by growth, obedience, and a deeper relationship with You.
We declare that the best is yet to come—not because of our plans, but because of Your promises.
In Jesus’ mighty name,
Amen.
