Title: “Called by Name — You Are Precious in His Sight”

Scripture Focus:
“He calls His own sheep by name.” — John 10:3

Devotional Message

1. When the World Makes You Feel Small, God Says You Matter

In our daily lives, it’s easy to feel like just another face in the crowd — a number in a queue, a name on a list, a role in a system. The world often measures significance by productivity, status, or performance. But that’s not how God sees you.

Jesus taught that His sheep — His followers — are known intimately, personally, and individually. He calls us by name. This means He not only recognizes you, but He also values you deeply and uniquely. God isn’t distant or impersonal; He is a Shepherd who knows you — your joys, struggles, wounds, and dreams.

Beloved, your significance doesn’t come from what you’ve achieved or how many people notice you — it comes from whose you are: the cherished possession of the King of kings.

2. Jesus Seeks You — Especially Where You Are Hurting

A powerful example Jesus gave was His encounter with the Samaritan woman at the well (John 4). On the surface, she was someone most people would overlook:

* She carried the weight of past failed relationships.
* She lived with social shame and personal regret.
* She had been searching for fulfillment in all the wrong places.

Yet Jesus intentionally went through Samaria — a detested region for Jews of that day — to meet her just where she was. He wasn’t deterred by her past or her reputation; He saw her heart. And when she met Him, she left transformed with a new sense of worth and purpose.

*God wants to meet you right where you are* — in your doubt, your wounds, your questions, and your imperfections. No situation is too messy or too far gone for His grace to reach you.

3. Your Identity Is Rooted in Grace, Not Performance

So many measure worth by success, achievements, or acceptance. But God’s valuation of you isn’t based on what you do — it’s based on what Jesus has done for you. In Christ:

* You are known by name.
* You are deeply loved.
* You have been redeemed and adopted into God’s family.
* Your life has abundant purpose and eternal meaning.

This truth liberates the soul from insecurity and shame. It tells you that you are precious simply because God chose you, not because you earned His love.

4. God Meets You in Your Mess — and Makes You a Witness

The Samaritan woman didn’t just leave with a changed heart — she became a living testimony. She went back to her city and shared the life-changing encounter she had with Jesus.

In the same way, when God meets you in your pain, transforms you in your struggle, and restores your hope, He doesn’t do it just for your benefit alone — He does it so that your story can point others to the Savior who loves them too.

Your life, no matter how broken it feels, can become a beacon of hope to others.

Daily Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You that You see me. Thank You that You know me by name and love me beyond measure. Today I receive Your grace — not because of anything I’ve done, but because of who You are. Help me to walk in confidence, knowing I matter to You, and to share Your love with those around me. In Your name, Amen.
