Mark 2:17 NKJV
When Jesus heard it, He said to them, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance."
Jesus by no means was saying the Scribes and Pharisees were well and righteous. He was emphasizing the point that they believed they were well and righteous. And that he did not come to call those who refused to see they were sick. And believed in their own self-righteousness. So, Jesus was saying you have no need of me, (the great Physician), because you think that you are well and righteous, when you are not.
How many Christians today in the church believe that they are well and righteous? How many refuse to see their need for the Great Physician? For the sin sickness of their soul and the unrighteousness of their religious hearts?
For just as there was a religious generation that were evil and adulterous in the time of Christ's time on the earth, so it is today. Many have heard the truth but have refused to love it to the extent of denying their very lives for the sake of the cross. And there are those in the Christian church today who have no need of the Savior. Who have never repented of their sinful lifestyles and have tried to incorporate Christ into it.
And if you have never repented of your sins and truly turned away from the old carnal life of worldliness and sinfulness, then you are still dead in your sins even if you are sitting in the midst of a church. Even if you quoted a prayer of repentance to invite Christ in to where he will enter.
Because there are only two kinds of people in the church. Those who are DEAD TO SIN and those who are DEAD IN SINS. And while the atoning blood of Christ may forgive you and cleanse you of your sins, it will not deliver you from the power and dominion of sin. That is only accomplished by the death with Christ in water baptism by faith. And it is extremely dangerous to be forgiven of your sins, and then to live in sin and continually commit sins because we have not been delivered from the power of sin through dying to self with Jesus. And being crucified with him in the burial waters of baptism and death to the old life.
Until these things are done in faith we cannot walk and live in the newness of life in the Holy Spirit. You cannot consistently live and walk in holiness without the Holy Spirit living inside of you. Which stresses the importance of being baptized in the Holy Spirit as the first Church were from the scriptures onward.
Fix your eyes back on Jesus and come into reality of the scriptures for your faith in Christ. Unlearn all of the false theology, 2000 years of religious customs and traditions, and doctrines of demons that you may have been taught by the Christian Church. And whatever does not line up with the scriptures let go of. Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you into the truth of God's Word and He will. And then the great physician will diagnose the sickness you do not see. And he will do open heart surgery on you and heal what is broken.
