🌿 Daily Devotion 📅 Date: January 2, 2026 📖 Theme: The Word Before Everything 🔖 Series: God the Beginning 📜 Scripture: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” — John 1:1 (NKJV) 💭 Reflection Before anything started, the Word already existed. Before time began to count days, before the earth had shape, before your story ever had a chapter — the Word was there. John does not say the Word was created. He says the Word was. That means the Word has no beginning. The Word did not show up later. The Word did not evolve. The Word is eternal. This Word was with God, meaning there was perfect agreement, unity, and authority. Then the scripture goes even deeper — the Word was God. This tells us that God and His Word cannot be separated. When God speaks, He releases Himself. When God gives His Word, He gives His power. This is why your life responds to words. This is why God changes situations by speaking. This is why Jesus could calm storms, heal bodies, and restore destinies with a Word. The same Word that existed in the beginning is still active today. If the Word was present at the beginning of creation, then the Word must also be present at the beginning of your breakthrough, your healing, your restoration, and your new season. Nothing in your life should start without the Word. And nothing that starts with the Word will end in failure. 🛠 Practical Application Today, place the Word back at the beginning. Start your day by listening to God’s Word before listening to problems. Speak God’s Word over situations instead of repeating fear. Trust that when God speaks, things must respond. When the Word leads, confusion leaves. When the Word speaks, direction comes. 🙏 Prayer Father, I thank You because Your Word was present in the beginning. Let Your Word take first place in my life again. I receive grace to trust what You say above what I see. Speak into every area of my life that needs order, clarity, and direction.
