Jesus said; “If ye love Me, keep My commandments.” John 14:15 (KJV) Nearly every Christian will say, “I love Jesus.” And many truly do. But Jesus did not say, “If ye love Me, feel sincere.” “If ye love Me, follow tradition.” “If ye love Me, do what your church teaches.” He said KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS. And love—biblical love—is always proven by obedience. A SOBERING QUESTION FOR EVERY SINCERE SUNDAY-KEEPER If Jesus commands obedience… and one of those commandments says: “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy… the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God.” — Exodus 20:8–11 (KJV) Who changed it? When did God ever sanctify Sunday? Where did Jesus authorize that change—by word or example? Not in Matthew. Not in Mark. Not in Luke. Not in John. Not once. Anywhere. “BUT MY PASTOR SAYS…” Beloved friend, hear this gently but plainly: Your pastor will not stand in your place on Judgment Day. Your church manual will not open the books of heaven. You will answer personally to God. The Bible commands: “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” — Isaiah 8:20 (KJV) And again: “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:21 (KJV) God never asked His people to outsource conscience to clergy. WHAT DID JESUS DO? Jesus kept the Sabbath (Luke 4:16) The apostles kept the Sabbath (Acts 13:42–44; Acts 17:2; Acts 18:4) The redeemed will keep the Sabbath in the New Earth (Isaiah 66:22–23) If the Sabbath was: Instituted at Creation (Genesis 2:1–3) Honored by Christ Practiced by the apostolic church Observed in eternity WHEN did God abolish it? A LOVING BUT URGENT WARNING. This is not about Saturday vs. Sunday. It is about authority. Jesus warned: “In vain they do worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” — Matthew 15:9 (KJV) In the final conflict, the issue will be: • God’s commandments vs. man’s traditions • God’s seal vs. the mark of human authority “Here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” — Revelation 14:12 (KJV) A PLEA FROM THE HEART Dear Christian friend, Please don’t ask: * What does my church teach? * What did I grow up believing? Ask instead: * “What saith the LORD?” Truth does not change because it is unpopular. FINAL APPEAL Jesus is not asking for blind tradition. He is asking for love that obeys. The Sabbath is not legalism. It is loyalty. It is rest. It is love expressed through obedience. “If ye love Me… keep My commandments.” Will we love Him enough to follow ALL His Word?
