Jan 4 2026 Justified by Faith Romans 4:1-25 What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather, has found according to the flesh? For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness” (Romans 4:1-3). Abraham, the father of faith, was justified by his belief in God, not by his works. This chapter shows us that our righteousness comes from trusting God's promises, not from our own efforts. Key Points: 1. Faith is the Key (Romans 4:1-8) Abraham's faith was credited to him as righteousness, showing that faith is the key to justification. 2. Not by Works (Romans 4:9-12) Circumcision was a sign of Abraham's faith, not the means to earn righteousness. 3. Promise and Inheritance (Romans 4:13-25) Abraham's faith in God's promise gave him hope and made him an heir to the world.
