Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.
What a wonderful Sunday I was blessed with. The sun was up, the temperature was workable, and the atmosphere was pure bliss. I spent quite a bit of quality time with my God and learned some things that made me think. I did make one video, and tried to make a second one, but it is like I have two ideas that barely know each other and decided to get married…just didn’t work. However, after a good night’s sleep, I believe I have located the problem and plan to make that video today.
God has blessed us, both my husband and I, with very good nights. Restful sleep abounds. I woke one time for an office visit, and he told me his morning numbers. They are great. He is back asleep as I sit here at my desk.
One of the pieces of the message yesterday was focused on the New Year. What are we going to do in this new year for the Kingdom? The speaker said that his wife likes to pick a word for the year. Now, instantly, I went to the typical ‘spiritual’ words; however, that was not the word chosen…the word … Open.
To be honest, I had to think a bit on that word to see if I could understand where he was going with it, and my mind went blank. When he started explaining, I was like, “yes”.
We need to be ‘open’ to opportunity. The opportunities that God places before us. Whether it is giving a couple bucks to the homeless or helping someone load groceries into their car while managing some kids … or just to be kind. Maybe be open to the opportunity to give a hug to a person who just needs a person. Be open to opportunities.
In being open to opportunities, recognize the opportunities of God. No opportunity opened by Him will bring harm to you or others. It will align with His Word, and it will bring fruit to the harvest.
Personally, I like this word. I like its thought. I like its purpose. I like its intention. I think I will join the speaker's wife in making open my word for at least this month…then maybe pick a different word to join in, but at least for January, Open, that is a great word.
What is your word for 2026?
Be blessed.
***All a man’s ways seem innocent to him, but motives are weighed by the Lord. Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.– Proverbs 16:2-3
