Not because he hated himself — but because he remembered himself clearly. A wretch is not someone who made a few mistakes. A wretch is someone who could not rescue themselves. Grace is not about improvement. It is about intervention. Jesus didn’t come to coach the lost. He came to seek and save them. When we soften our past, we shrink grace. When we sanitize sin, we silence the miracle. Grace didn’t find you climbing upward. Grace found you going the wrong way. And that’s why heaven rejoices — not because you tried harder, but because you were found.
