DAILY VERSE — January 6

A Heart Made New

Ezekiel 36:26 (NKJV)

(I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you...)

Only God can truly change the heart. Through His promise in Ezekiel, He offers more than behavior
modification—He offers spiritual transformation. A new heart means new desires, new strength, and
new purpose.

When God replaces a heart of stone with one of flesh, He replaces coldness with compassion and
resistance with surrender. Gratitude helps us keep that new heart soft before Him. A thankful heart
stays tender to the Spirit’s leading and willing to love others freely.

Renewal is not about trying harder—it’s about letting God reshape what’s within.

Reflection Questions:

1. What areas of my heart still need God’s renewal?

2. How does gratitude help keep my heart tender to His Spirit?

3. How can I live out my “new heart” this week in action and attitude?

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for giving me a new heart and a new spirit. Keep me soft toward Your Word and
sensitive to Your voice. Help me to love others with the compassion You’ve placed in me. Amen.

Practical Application:

โ— Spend five minutes in prayer asking God to reveal areas needing renewal.

โ— Express gratitude for how He’s already changed your heart.

โ— Perform one act of kindness that reflects your new heart in Christ.

Takeaway Thought:

When God changes the heart, everything else begins to follow.
