Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.

This year, I decided that I was going to ‘listen’ to the bible. Listen when I walk. Listen when I drive. Listen when I have quiet time. The idea is not to finish the Bible in a set amount of time, but to learn from the Bible every time that I listen. The goal is for something to spark a light inside of me enough that I have to pick up the Word and look it up. Read it, hoard it in my mind, then wrap my mind around what I have just heard. Going through the Bible, this time, is not about going through the Bible; it is about LEARNING. Six days in and my mind is blown away.

The first lesson I learned was that Adam was with Eve when the serpent gave her the apple. Sounds a little silly, I did not know that, but I was always under the impression that she was alone when the serpent approached her. What an eye opener…right from the start.

The next lesson that struck big was Noah. So many lessons in this story. Faith. Determination to be a good servant and student. The fact that God himself sealed them in the ark. I need to listen and read again because I am sure that there are points that I missed, and I want to know.

Now I am at Moses. Understandably, my knowledge of Moses started with Charlton Heston. As far as I knew, those accounts were accurate and I hold all memories of that movie to compare to the Word. The more I listen, the more I realize how many Hollywood liberties were taken. A good visual aid for the story, but with some pitfalls; however, as I was listening to the account of Moses yesterday, he was before Pharaoh and dishing out the plagues. Something in the scripture struck me odd, and I had to know more, because it did not make sense how that could have happened.

I have reached out to a couple of friends and my pastor for clarity, but I believe that there is something to be totally learned here. There is something in oddity that I am in need of remembering. I believe that there is a lesson inside this lesson. I also believe that this point that has me curious is a proposed stumbling block from the enemy to make me stop. Guess what is not going to happen.
Five days in and I have found so much knowledge. I have uncovered so much wisdom. In just five days, I want to deep dive and learn all that I can. In just five days. Can you imagine what I am going to find in the next five, then the next five, then the next five?

If you have never considered breaching the covers of your Bible outside of church, I highly encourage you to do so. As you pull the words from the page and eat them as an appetizer, you will find that you want more than that; you want the whole meal.

Be blessed.
