Dark days lay ahead for Brother Hagin as sickness took its toll on his life. But through faith, the best was also yet to come!
“Anyone who has followed my ministry knows my story. As a teenager on the bed of sickness, I was given up by medical science to die. I was saved on the bed of sickness, and I loved the Lord. I knew I was Heaven-bound, but I didn’t know about healing. I didn’t know I didn’t have to die. But as a Baptist boy reading Grandma’s Methodist Bible, I read Mark 11:23 and 24, and those two scriptures changed the course of my life.
When I read those verses, they seemed to leap off the page of my Bible and burn themselves deep into my spirit. Like a branding iron that makes an indelible mark on the flesh of an animal and identifies him for life, those scriptures made an indelible impression on my spirit and marked me for life.
I have never forgotten those words of Jesus: “.. . verily I say unto you. That whosoever shall say unto this mountain. Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them" (Mark 11:23,24).
Although it took me 16 long months on the bed of sickness to discover how to put those verses into practice, the revelation of faith was there all the time. And, eventually, my faith in God’s holy written Word raised me off a deathbed and healed me of a deformed heart and an incurable blood disease.
That revelation of faith in God’s Word completely reversed my destiny. What Satan had meant for evil — to destroy my life — God turned around for good. ”
