FORGIVENESS
Forgiveness is a powerful word and one of the most difficult principles to apply to our lives. We are usually quick to want others to forgive us, but many times are not humble enough to ask for it. When we sin against God, That is exactly what we must do. 1 John 1:9. We should also seek forgiveness when we’ve wronged others. But what if they wronged you? What about all the things that were done to hurt you, use you, or take from you. How can you forgive someone who insulted and disrespected you? Shouldn't you seek revenge or lash out in anger? The Bible explains what our reaction should be in Ephesians 4:32. But what if it continues and they keep sinning against you? Peter asked Jesus the same thing in Matthew 18:21-22. There is no limit to how much we should forgive. God does give us a warning if we refuse forgiveness to others. Matthew 6:14-15 explains the terrible position we can put ourselves in if we do not forgive. Colossians 3:13. I encourage you to pray and ask God to bring to mind anyone whom you may have a grudge against and ask for help to forgive them, act on Mark 11:25 and Matthew 5:23-24. There is a great peace that comes with forgiveness that will change your life! If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your savior and surrendered your life to Him, you have been forgiven of your sins and that same forgiveness should be demonstrated to others in our lives. If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as savior and asked Him to forgive you of your sin, I implore you to do that today! John 3:16
