Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.
Another challenge has come up for the start of the year. It is through the same group that helped push me to finish two books in a year. I was intrigued; however, I had made up my mind to skip this challenge because my schedule is quite full right now. Adding something else was not in the cards. I knew I had already signed up for a competition piece later in the month and thought I needed to just chill for a little while.
A friend of mine asked me if I was doing this challenge and told them that I was on the fence. They explained that they were doing it, had questions, and wondered if I might be able to help. I had missed the send-off conference call and was going to watch it anyway when I got home, so I told them I would let them know if I could figure it out. After watching the video, taking notes on the challenge, searching my brain for my style of writing mixed with these prompts … To be honest, I have ideas, but not sure if I am going to do it. I am intrigued. I do love a challenge. He did bring me to this avenue of communication for a purpose. Shoot, I could almost make the story about my life … haha.
Squirrel. After watching the video replay, then reading my friend’s question again, I think I was able to answer it successfully. After a couple of random thoughts ran through my mind last night and this morning, I think I may have a prospect of a story for myself.
This is not the first time that I have tried to bow out of a challenge because the optics did not align with my style of writing; however, He had a different plan for me. There have been paid competition pieces that I almost gave up on because my mind would not grasp where He wanted me to go with the story. But each time … he prevailed with a wonderful story. Chances are, I will write in this challenge. Chances are, He will provide me with the next step in forming me into the writer that He wants me to be. Chances are, I will not let the enemy’s attempts to stop me prevent me from serving my God in the arena that He has chosen for me.
This morning, I give thanks to my friend who texted me a question. I had to listen to the video for answers and it gave me the nudge. Though you may not have realized that was what you were doing, because you simply had a question, thank you.
Odd scenarios will be the catalyst that He uses to move us in the direction that he desires. My friend simply had a question. He had a purpose in this set of prompts to use me, and I almost said no.
What weird occasion has popped up in your world lately that you cannot put your finger on its purpose? It is quite possible that you are trying to bypass the very area that God has sent you to. Examine the circumstance and look for His face. My money is it is right before you…plain as day, and you know it.
Be blessed.
