Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.

Last night, while walking the dog, I was prompted to make a video about the wind of the storm moving in on us. Unfortunately, my phone was on the charger. As I lay in my bed, that prompting did not go away. I tried to ignore it, after all, I was in bed, but the Holy Spirit wanted a video. So, with phone in hand and still on the charger, I made a video in the dark of my bedroom. A scenario prompted by the Holy Spirit. As I sit here, another video … to run in conjunction with last night’s … will be made before work.

In the Word, Jesus tells us that we will have trouble. He tells us that we will be hated because the world first hated him. A misconception of Christianity is that because we are followers of His Word, we have perfect lives. That because we ‘chose’ to follow His teachings and the Word, we never have difficulties. That because we chose this path, we walk through with rainbows and unicorns with nothing to fear or bother us. On the contrary … it is actually the opposite. The difference is … we know who is truly in charge and each obstacle and valley we must walk through … makes us stronger. Then we can help others who are walking through a storm.

The world would have you believe that He does not care about you, or that He is mad at you, or that He enjoys the sport of our suffering. This is all false.

If everything were handed to you with no effort, no work, no suffering of any kind, you would not have the first inclination to give thanks for your bounty. It is seen time and time again in children who are raised getting everything they want or throwing a fit for. No regard for anyone else but themselves. Without the storms of life, how would we know what the calm truly was?

Do I enjoy the ‘storms’ (yes, plural) that I am walking through? Not really. They are quite frustrating. The enemy is tossing curveballs like hand grenades at my feet in hopes that I will fall and not get up. However, in all of these storms, I have peace. I have joy. I have comfort. I have love. I have those things because I have Him.
A friend of ours who has seen the peace that presides over our house has been seeking Him. Recently, they have been slapped with a huge storm out of nowhere. I believe that this storm is the result of their change of focus. Their desire to be closer to the Father. Their interest in true Peace. They had been a good little soldier for the other side, and now they are showing signs of mutiny. The enemy is not happy…not happy at all.

The wind whipping around outside my house is the chaos that has embedded itself in their lives. However, the God that I serve will prevail, and the enemy will lose yet another one. Why can I be so certain? Because I pray. Those around me pray. Prayer, which may not be physical interaction to correct a situation, is more powerful than a physical quarrel. My God has told me that all I need to do is be faithful, seek, ask, and obey, and I will prosper.

Today I give thanks for the storms of my life and the storms shown to me for others. Today, I thank Him that He felt I was worthy to represent Him in these chaotic madhouses. Today I pray for the light to be brightened so that I may stumble and that I will properly serve Him. I refuse to let the storms win.

Be blessed.

**I will make you a wall to this people, a fortified wall of bronze; they will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you to rescue and save you. Declares the Lord. I will save you from the hands of the wicked and redeem you from the grasp of the cruel. –Jeremiah 15:20-21
