ACTS 17:
11 Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. 12 As a result, many of them believed, as did also a number of prominent Greek women and many Greek men.
Be like the Bereans who did not just shout "Amen" to everything but went home and searched the SCRIPTURES to see if what they were taught was truly in scripture. There are so many "good" things being preached and done on the pulpit, yet such have no scripture backing. The fact that something happened/was done once in the Bible does not make it into doctrine.
