1 Samuel 3:1-20 NKJV

Psalm 74:9-17 We do not see our signs; There is no longer any prophet; Nor is there any among us who knows how long.

O God, how long will the adversary reproach? Will the enemy blaspheme Your name forever?

Why do You withdraw Your hand, even Your right hand? Take it out of Your bosom and destroy them.

For God is my King from of old, Working salvation in the midst of the earth.

You divided the sea by Your strength; You broke the heads of the sea serpents in the waters.

You broke the heads of Leviathan in pieces, And gave him as food to the people inhabiting the wilderness.

You broke open the fountain and the flood; You dried up mighty rivers.

The day is Yours, the night also is Yours; You have prepared the light and the sun.

You have set all the borders of the earth; You have made summer and winter.

Exodus 27:20-21 "And you shall command the children of Israel that they bring you pure oil of pressed olives for the light, to cause the lamp to burn continually.

"In the tabernacle of meeting, outside the veil which is before the Testimony, Aaron and his sons shall tend it from evening until morning before the LORD, It shall be a stature forever to their generations on behalf of the children of Israel.

1 Samuel 2:12-17 Now the sons of Eli were corrupt; they did not know the LORD.

And the priests' custom with the people was that when any man offered a sacrifice, the priest's servant would come with a three-pronged fleshhook in his hand while the meat was boiling.

Then he would thrust it into the pan, or kettle, or caldron, or pot; and the priest would take for himself all that the fleshhook brought up. So they did in Shiloh tp all the Israelites who came there.

Also, before they burned the fat, the priest's servant would come and say to the man who sacrificed, "Give meat for roasting to the priest, for he will not take boiled meat from you, but raw."

And if the man said to him, "They should really burn the fat first; then you may take as much as your heart desires," he would then answer him, "No, but you must give it now; and if not, I will take it by force."

Therefore the sin of the young men was very great before the LORD, for men abhorred the offering of the LORD.

2 Kings 21:10-16 And the LORD spoke by His servants the prophets, saying,

"Because Manasseh king of Judah has done these abominations (he has acted more wickedly than all the Amorites who were before him, and has also made Judah sin with his idols),

"therefore thus says the LORD God of Israel; 'Behold, I am bringing such calamity upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whoever hears of it, both his ears will tingle.

'And I will stretch over Jerusalem the measuring line of Samaria and the plummet of the house of Ahab; I will wipe Jerusalem as one wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down.

'So I will forsake the remnant of My inheritance and deliver them  into the hand of their enemies; and they shall become victims of plunder to all their enemies,

'because they have done evil in My sight, and have provoked Me to anger since the day their fathers came out of Egypt, even to this day.'"

Moreover Manasseh shed very much innocent blood, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another, besides his sin by which he made Judah sin, in doing evil in the sight of the LORD.

1 Samuel 2:22-26 Now Eli was very old; and he heard everything his sons did to all Israel, and how they lay with the women who assembled at the door of the tabernacle of meeting.

So he said to them, "Why do you do such things? For I hear of your evil dealings from all the people.

"No, my sons! For it is not a good report that I hear. You make the LORD's people transgress.

"If one man sins against another, God will judge him, But if a man sins against the LORD, who will intercede for him?" Nevertheless they did not heed the voice of their father, because the LORD desired to kill them.

And the child Samuel grew in stature, and in favor both with the LORD and men.

Ruth 1:15-18 And she said, "Look, your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and to her gods; return after your sister-in-law."

But Ruth said; "Entreat me not to leave you, Or to turn back from following after you; For wherever you go, I will go; And wherever you lodge, I will lodge; Your people shall be my people, And your God, my God.

Where you die, I will die, And there will I be buried. The LORD do so to me, and more also, If anything but death parts you and me."

When she saw that she was determined to go with her, she stopped speaking to her.

Isaiah 39:8 So Hezekiah said to Isaiah, "The word of the LORD which you have spoken is good!" For he said, "At least there will be peace and truth in my days."

1 Samuel 9:6 And he said to him, "Look now, there is in this city a man of God, and he is an honorable man; all that he says surely comes to pass. So let us go there; perhaps he can show us the way that we should go."
