Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.

Today’s post is a mimic of the video I made last night. It is an important message and warrants being told as many times and in as many ways as possible.

Yesterday we were down one of our little routes. City routes. I asked the carriers if they would like my help, and they all stated that they did. It has been ten years, maybe even longer, since I carried this particular route, but I was up for the challenge. It is roughly a four-hour route … by those who carry it regularly; however, I did not do that … I was a bit slower and slower than even I would have liked.

When you are introduced to a task that is not in your wheelhouse, you have two options. Challenge Accepted. Challenge Averted. This particular challenge was not new to me, but it was in the sense that I had not done this particular job in the post office for quite some time. I am older. I am wider. I am heavier. I am slower. I am more broken. It was a bit daunting.

(Each section of the route is called a relay.) The first two relays are supposed to take 45 minutes to an hour. I timed myself and was at 1 hour and 20 minutes. Very proud of myself. With that as my scope, I was encouraged that since this was the hardest relay, I would be just fine and finish respectfully. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I was well over an hour later than I should have been. I had to make several package clean-up runs to deliver packages that I had missed. Plus, as the day went on, I got slower. Not intentionally, but just a fact of my age, out of shapeness, and weight. But … I finished. All the mail was delivered. I finished.

The step count on my phone was over 17 thousand, which is over 8 miles. Bum knee and aching hip just busted through an obstacle wall of doubt in so many ways. I finished that route with no issues. I am not too old. I am not too out of shape. I am not too wide. I am not too heavy. I am determined not to allow the enemy to dictate what I can and cannot do. I beat him yesterday. I broke through the obstacle of doubt yesterday. The problem that was before me is now behind me, and God showed me that it was possible. I just needed to have the confidence to show up and take that first step.

We all have obstacles in our lives. We all have areas we do not want to go to or dread going to. We all have doubts at one point or another. What we do with that … well, that is a choice. Accept? Avert? I can tell you that accepting has wonderful rewards in the end. So if you have recently conquered an obstacle .. Well done. You can now check that off the list. You did it. It's done. If you have not, do not let fear or doubt rule over you. You got this. All you need to do is take that first step.

Be blessed.
