The Kings Ring and Messiah
There is an action that happens in the Old Testament whose importance is often overlooked. We see it in a couple places. One of the most prevalent places is Esther 3:12-13.
Esther 3:12-13
(12) Then were the king's scribes called on the thirteenth day of the first month, and there was written according to all that Haman had commanded unto the king's lieutenants, and to the governors that were over every province, and to the rulers of every people of every province according to the writing thereof, and to every people after their language; in the name of king Ahasuerus was it written, and sealed with the king's ring. (13) And the letters were sent by posts into all the king's provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, even upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and to take the spoil of them for a prey.
Let me give you a little background on this. Haman despised Mordecai because he would not Bow down to or reverence Him. Haman was mad and, realizing that Mordecai was a Jew, came up with a plan to kill Mordecai and all the Jews. He decided to use his power to influence the king to eliminate them. The only way to accomplish this was to get to get the king to agree with this and seal it with the king’s ring. According to scripture once a matter is sealed with the king’s ring it cannot be changed.
An example of this is seen in Daniel 6:17…
Daniel 6:17
And a stone was brought, and laid upon the mouth of the den; and the king sealed it with his own signet, and with the signet of his lords; that the purpose might not be changed concerning Daniel.
Also in Esther 8:7-8
Esther 8:7-8
(7) Then the king Ahasuerus said unto Esther the queen and to Mordecai the Jew, Behold, I have given Esther the house of Haman, and him they have hanged upon the gallows, because he laid his hand upon the Jews. (8) Write ye also for the Jews, as it liketh you, in the king's name, and seal it with the king's ring: for the writing which is written in the king's name, and sealed with the king's ring, may no man reverse.
We see in these scriptures that once a law is sealed with the king’s ring it cannot be reversed. Unlike our laws today that can be changed or revoked by an official. Laws in the Old Testament, when sealed with the king’s ring, could not be changed.
Esther and Mordecai had a problem. The king himself still could not revoke the law he sealed with his ring to destroy the Jews. He got around this law by allowing for Esther and Mordecai to create a law that the Jews could rise up and defend themselves against their adversaries and it was sealed with the kings ring. The Jews were victorious!
You might ask, what does this have to do with Messiah? Messiah was the king’s ring for the forgiveness of our sins! It wasn’t for nothing that Messiah said in John 19:30 “It is Finished”! When he said “It is Finished” he was saying the payment for our sins is complete!
Let’s take a quick look at the definition of the word finished in the Greek…
Finished - G5055 - teleō - From G5056; to end, that is, complete, execute, conclude, discharge (a debt)
Finished - G5056 - Telos -From a primary word τέλλω tellō (to set out for a definite point or goal); properly the point aimed at as a limit, that is, (by implication) the conclusion of an act or state (termination [literally, figuratively or indefinitely], result [immediate, ultimate or prophetic], purpose); specifically, an impost or levy (as paid)
Messiah’s death sealed our salvation. Don’t get me wrong I am not saying we are “once saved always saved”! I don’t believe in this false doctrine of “once saved always saved”. We can be saved and walk out of our salvation.
What Messiah was saying when He said “It is finished” was that He has completed everything we need for our salvation.
Messiah was the king’s ring for our salvation. There’s nothing that can change that.
Matthew 16:18
And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Is Messiah saying here that He will build His church upon Peter? Certainly not! Peter was just a man like you and I. He was saying He will build the church on the foundation of the finished work of Messiah!
1 Corinthians 3:11
For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is YHWH Messiah.
Ephesians 2:20
And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, YHWH Messiah himself being the chief corner stone;
Hebrews 11:10
For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is YHWH.
2 Timothy 2:19
Nevertheless the foundation of YHWH standeth sure, having this seal, YHWH knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of the Messiah depart from iniquity.

Each and every day satan tries to tell us that
1. Messiah’s death on the cross didn’t mean anything
2. That we are beyond being saved
3. YHWH doesn’t care if we’re saved or not
4. YHWH doesn’t care about us and our personal lives
5. That YHWH doesn’t even know we exist
This is what the scriptures say about satan…
Genesis 3:1
Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which YHWH Elohim had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath Elohim said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
John 8:44
Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
1 John 3:8
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
We need to stop entertaining and believing the lies of satan!
The promises of YHWH say…
1 John 4:4
Ye are of YHWH, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
Isaiah 54:17
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of YHWH, and their righteousness is of me, saith YHWH.
