Talking the Talk or Walking the Walk
Some people who profess to love God will go to church each week, sing praises, and even pray - but they don’t have a clue who God really is! Once they walk out the church doors, they barely think about God again - much less pray and worship Him, unless of course, they have a crisis that comes up. And “serving God” is not even on their radar because they are too self-focused on all the things they want to do. But just ‘going to church’ is not going to save you, neither is going through the motions of being a Christian. The Bible makes it very clear how Jesus feels about obedience and the importance of serving Him. In Matthew 7:21, we’re told, “Not everyone who says to Me, “Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” Now stop for a moment and really digest what Jesus is saying here! Don’t miss the critical message, which is: if you are not “doing the will of the Father,” you won’t be in heaven! It’s that simple! It is not enough to “profess” to love God - you must be obedient to His will. Now is the time to examine your heart and ask, “Am I just ‘talking the talk,’ . . . or am I ‘walking the walk.’ ” And if you find your obedience and service to God is non-existent, rededicate your life to Him today. Make Jesus first in your life and refresh your relationship with Christ today... by “walking the walk.” Text: Hebrews 6:10, Romans 12:1, 1 Samuel 12:24, John 12:26
