Jehu was chosen by God for a clear assignment.
He was anointed to remove the house of Ahab and cleanse Israel from corruption.

He acted decisively.
He killed King Joram.
He confronted Jezebel and ordered her thrown from the window.

He wiped out the descendants of Ahab.
He gathered the prophets of Baal, destroyed their temple, and eliminated Baal worship from the land.

On the outside, it looked like total obedience.
Strong leadership.
Bold action.
Clear results.

But speed is not the same as surrender.

Jehu fulfilled the mission, yet his heart remained untouched.
He obeyed the command, but never fully embraced the God who gave it.

He destroyed Baal worship, yet he refused to turn away from the golden calves at Bethel and Dan.
He removed one form of idolatry, but protected another that was more comfortable and familiar.

There are believers like this today.
Active in ministry.
Zealous in action.
Busy doing the work of God.

Yet slowly distant from intimacy with Him.

We can confront public sin while quietly tolerating private compromise.

Partial obedience looks impressive, but it still costs us closeness with God.

God is not just looking for results.
He is looking for hearts that walk with Him fully.

If obedience is not rooted in love, it eventually becomes performance.

Jehu reminds us that zeal without devotion leads to activity without transformation.

2 Kings 10:28 to 31
“Thus Jehu wiped out Baal from Israel. Yet Jehu did not turn away from the sins of Jeroboam.”

May we not just act boldly for God, but walk humbly with Him (Jn. 17:3)
