Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.

I belong to several writing clubs. Each has their own unique niche in promoting writing and writers. Encouragement. Challenges (free entry). Competitions (entry fee). Some have both. They offer services to help young writers not to be afraid of the deep end.

Towards the end of last year, I entered all the competitions for this year in one group because they were offering a discount if you purchased a bundle, so I did. Knowing that I have a lot going on in my personal life, I decided to forego the free challenge this month. I was sure my brain would not brain on two stories at the same time again. A friend, inadvertently, encouraged me to join the free one. I had my story ready to go when I remembered that there were ‘twists’ being entered into the arena of our storylines. (I had finished the story early…at least I thought.) The first twist has thrown me for a tiny loop, but it actually works well with my storyline topic.

NOW. Now we get the prompts for the pay challenge. I had to look up the genre. I am not sure how my style and this genre will work together, but that is the challenge … isn’t it? The other two prompts are no problem. The genre is the challenge. I woke up to a text of an idea from one of my beta readers. I seriously laughed. When I sent her the prompts, she told me that they were looking up the genre as well. LOL.

As I sit here drinking my coffee, I have three friends whose lives are being turned upside down … one appears to be long-term, one may be definite, and one’s severity is unknown. I think about the storyline of my first story and can compare the chaos of the characters to the chaos of their lives. Then I think about the prompts to the second story, they too have a definite link of comparison.

I know that you have no idea what thoughts are in my head right now, but when I tell you that two separate story plots and the topsy-turvy rollercoaster of my friend’s lives are in close proximity of each other, it is kind of eerie.

I always find it extremely interesting how God can place two seemingly different avenues in front of us, yet they are so closely related that it is scary and refreshing at the same time.

Jesus taught in metaphorical examples of comparison all the time. It was to keep the foolish fooled and true followers grounded. In that same case, I believe that He works these odd comparisons in today’s world the same as then. Personally, I rarely get a front row seat as in my storylines to the topsy-turvy lives; it is usually in retrospect. However, because I have this front row seat today, I am encouraged to bring His story to life.

Today, I would like to encourage you to not just see the circumstance; look past it. See His beauty in the circumstance and know that there is meaning behind it. The enemy will be right there in the mosh pit, telling you all the ugly and scary things to keep you from focusing on His presence. Do not allow the ugly or odd, scary prompts of your life to discourage you from the victory that lies just beyond this valley. The enemy is persuasive and convincing, but God is truth and peace. Stay the course, you got this.
